Introductions all around were made shortly after 7:00 pm.
MINUTES
Jean moved and Glenn seconded to dispense with reading of the minutes at this and future meetings. Motion approved. Corrections are to be emailed to Al Copp at acopp@msn.com, and Al agreed to bring extra copies of the minutes to each meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
By-laws: Al moved and Bruce seconded a motion to change the draft by-laws on voting. The change would remove the requirement for 55% attendance at meetings as a prerequisite for voting and instead require that the member be current on dues and be present at the meeting. Motion approved.
Fall Festival: Items are still needed for the Raffle Basket and can be delivered to Foster Brothers. Also volunteers are needed to watch over the Zone booth.
Al moved and Jean seconded a motion to commission Sam to produce a new banner with the logo and website address for use at the festival and beyond. Motion approved.
Nominating Committee: Bruce, Sam and Henry have been named to the Nominating Committee. The charge is to have a proposed slate of officers by the November meeting for election at the December meeting.
Member List: A complete member list is needed by the December meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Membership Drive and Renewals: Bruce volunteered to receive renewals at Foster Bros., but we still need a Membership Chair.
Annual Banquet: The subject of an Annual Banquet was discussed and it was decided to hold social receptions at six month intervals rather than to take on an annual banquet at this time.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Treasurer Report: Jean presented a report showing that the Association has $1,699.68 in the banking account. Al moved acceptance, Glenn seconded. Motion approved
Website Committee: Glenn reported that the Committee meets the Tuesday after the monthly meeting at 7:00 am at Greg's Bagels.
The website now contains a list of members. Members are encouraged to verify it's accuracy and report any changes or additions to Glenn. Glenn also made a call for Calendar event listings. These will be forwarded to Sharon for review as to appropriateness, who will bring questionable listings to the Committees attention.
Glenn also reported that the website is now capable of showing on-line advertising. He will propose a policy on the use of headers, including the number of free member insertions and a rate for additional ones. Header designs should be forwarded to Glenn.
Miscellaneous:
Check out the website at either www.herfordzone.org or www.hbza.org.
Next meeting: November 14, 2002 at the firehall. Don't forget to attend and to bring food bank items!
Respectfully Submitted,
Al Copp
